The Actuarial Science Club is a student organization for those interested in actuarial science. The actuarial science profession makes use of a person’s knowledge of math, economics, finance and risk theory in the business world. We encourage interaction between students, faculty, and professional actuaries.
The Goals of the UNCC Actuarial Science Club are to:
Provide members with a better understanding of the actuarial field
Create the opportunity to build relationships among actuarial students and faculty
Encourage relationships between students and actuarial professionals
Expose students to professional applications of actuarial science
Provide help and resources for students taking actuarial exams
Take part in community events and service work
Club activities will include:
Company Presentations
Every semester the actuarial club will invite business representatives from a variety of companies to come and speak on topics relating to the actuarial field. These presentations give students a better understanding of a career in actuarial science.
Social Events
Interaction among club members is a key focus of the Actuarial Club. Throughout the year members will be able to share experiences, exchange advice, gain information on actuarial coursework, exams, and classes, and form lasting friendships.
