Officers

 

Jeremy Dunbar - President and Webmaster

Jeremy is a senior at UNCC and will graduate in May 2010 with a BS in Mathematics for Business with a concentration in Actuarial Science and related work in Mechanical Engineering. He is also an officer for UNC-Charlotte's chapter of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) as its webmaster. Jeremy is sitting for exam P immediately following his FM sitting. In his free time when he is not studying or working for Transamerica as an Actuarial Intern, Jeremy actively restores VW aircooled Beetles and Porsche 356s. He also enjoys the study of ancient Chinese literature and has been brushing up on his Mandarin before his trip to Beijing later this year.

 

Tim Benham - VP

Tim is a senior Bachelor of Science Mathematics student. His main interest in the subject is actuarial science where he has passed the P and FM exams and plans to take MLC in May. When not studying for exams or working on his senior project, Tim enjoys fitness and exercising. Tim is a hardworking, driven individual who aims for perfection and precision in all that he does.

 

Becki Duong - Secretary

Becki is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte major in mathematics concentrated in actuarial science with minor in economics. She will be graduated in December of 2010. She is also a member of a new math organization called Pi-Mu-Epsilon. She is currently prepared myself for exams P and FM in May and August.

 

 

 

Kenneth Groom - Treasurer

Ken is a senior and will graduate in Fall 2010 with a BA in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuary Science. He is also a active member in Gamma Iota Sigma(GIS), as well as Programs in Leadership and Organizational Training(PILOT). He is actively seeking a internship in the fields of actuarial science and underwriting. Kenny will be sitting for exam FM at the end of the semester and exam P at some later time in the year. However, when studying he can be found in the library on the second floor for any one interested in forming study groups for exam preparation.

 

 

Dr. Wafaa Shaban - Advisor

Dr. Shaban has been a professor at UNCC since 1999. She is one of the chairs of the actuarial science program and teaches Actuarial Science I and II, preparing students for exams FM and MLC. The new club is grateful to Dr. Shaban for her help and support in getting us started!
