The Ronald McDonald House (RoHo), founded in Philadelphia, PA in
1974 through a partnership between the Philadelphia Eagles Football
team and a local McDonalds reigonal manager, strives to create, find,
and support programs that directly improve the health and well being
of children. The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from
home" for families of seriously ill children who are being treated at
nearby hospitals. Since it opened almost 40 years ago, more than 10
million families around the world have benefited from the comfort
provided by the Ronald McDonald House.
For many years, the Zeta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi has supported the Ronald McDonald House of
Winston-Salem by giving our time and raising money to help support the house and the families who stay there. We
are very pleased to announce that Ronald McDonald House Charities will be opening a house in Charlotte within the
next two years.
Every ADPi enjoys spending several hours each semester volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house. We have been
asked to help in a variety of ways including cooking dinner for guests, cleaning parts of the house, going grocery
shopping to stock the kitchen, and helping the house prepare for large fundraising events. In addition to the time we
spend at the Ronald McDonald House, the Zeta Gamma chapter hosts a variety of fundraisers benefiting RoHo
including Pi-a-Pie in the fall and Pi Prison in the spring. We truly enjoy working with such a wonderful organization.
