EGSA Conference Travel Policies

EGSA encourages English graduate students to attend conferences, and we are able to offer funding to help cover the costs of travel and conference registration. This money is available on a first come, first serve basis. If you know you're planning to attend a conference during the 2004-2005 academic year, go ahead and apply.

Because we have limited travel funds, priority goes to presenters, and there is a limit to the amount each traveller may receive for each conference. Those attending conferences in North Carolina may receive a maximum of $100; those travelling out-of-state may receive $200. Contact Sonya Hagler, EGSA treasurer, to discuss your travel funding options.

**IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE**

Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Pereira, English graduate students now have additional funds for travel during the 2004-2005 academic year. You must apply to EGSA for travel funding before you request money from this additional travel fund. All requests for this money must be received by 15 November 2004. Contact Dr. Tony Jackson, graduate program coordinator, or Eleanor Stafford, English department secretary, to find out more about how to apply for this travel money.
