Proposed GPSG Mission Statement
|
|
To ensure the GPSG is accurately representing the
needs and interests of graduate students, this year's officers think it is
important to communicate exactly what graduate students want to accomplish
through the GPSG. Below is a rough draft of what the GPSG
Mission Statement might look like, but we want your input! Let Liz
(gpsgsecretary@uncc.edu) know what is working, not working, or what is not being
represented.
***GPSG Mission Statement*** The primary goal of the Graduate and Professional Student Government at UNCC
is to represent the voice of the graduate student body by identifying the
concerns and needs of graduate students. Through forums of discussion, we
hope to better identify how the needs of graduate students can be met and
represented to the university at large.
However, our goal to accurately represent the graduate student body cannot
be reached without identifying a
unified voice amongst graduate students. Establishing a graduate presence
and sense of community is therefore one of the goals of the GPSG. As a
community of students, the GPSG endeavors to provide meaningful activities
for its members to correspond in both the social and academic realms.
Together, we continue to give back to the greater community of UNCC
students, our departments, the university, and the Charlotte community.
