The GPSG Groups page is one of the locations where we
discuss many of the ideas that, ultimately, become our policies and
procedures. As a result, it is a very important part of participation in the
GPSG to share your ideas, attitudes, and opinions on these message boards.
To help make this process easier, this page provides a step-by-step tutorial
on how to join the GPSG Group.
STEP 1.
To begin, click on and login to your
account. Once, logged in, click on the Groups button at the top right of
your screen.
 STEP
2.
Clicking the "groups" icon should cause a new window
to open that looks like the image to the right. (If it does not, check to
make sure that your pop-up blocker isn't preventing it.)
When you see the screen at the right, click on the
hyperlink that says "Groups Index."
(Note: All the images on the right are clickable to
see a larger version.)
 STEP
3.
After clicking, your screen should look like the image to the right.
In the blank, type "GPSG" and click on the "Search"
button.

After clicking, your screen should look like the image to the right.
Note the listing for GPSG in blue letters above the
search blank. Click on it.
 STEP
5.
If you successfully chose the GPSG group, you will see
the screen shown on the image to the right.
Click on the "Join Group" button.

6.
After clicking the "Join Group" button, another window
will open that will ask you for more information, as seen in the image to
the right.Fill out the information and click on
the "Join" button.

is an example of one way you could fill out the information requested.
 STEP
7.
Once your information has been submitted, you should see the screen shown
on the image to the right.
It will read "Your request to join the GPSG group has been submitted to
the group leader." Click on the "Ok" button to close the window.
Notification of your acceptance to the GPSG group will
be sent to your email when access has been granted by a channel moderator.
The time you must wait will vary, but it may take up to a few days.
 STEP
8.
If you see the screen on the image to the right, it
means that you have not yet been granted permission to participate in the
group discussions.
Because this group will be used to discuss sometimes
sensitive topics that are specific to graduate and professional students and
their needs, it will be closed to other students. As a result, new members
will have to wait until a group moderator grants them approval.
Please be patient and check your email. We will be
approving you within a couple of days.
 STEP
9.
When you receive the e-mail, login to 49er Express and
click on the Groups button.
When the Groups window opens, click on the "GPSG" in
blue letters. (They are purple in the image to the right.)
