There are a number of committees in GPSG that are
responsible for specific areas of graduate student concern. These include the
Executive Committee, which administrates GPSG; the Finance Committee, that
oversees all GPSG funding; the Research Fair Committee, that organizes and hosts
the annual Graduate Research Fair; the Social Affairs Committee, that organizes student
events throughout the year; and other committees that may be organizes as
needed.
For more information about the formation, function, and
purpose for these committees, please read below. If you wish to participate,
please contact the chairperson of the respective committee. All committees
positions are open to any member in good standing with GPSG and the Graduate
School. These committees are generally filled at the beginning of the academic
year, but occasional vacancies do occur.

Executive Committee

The GPSG Executive Committee is primarily responsible for
running the periodic and day-to-day administrative, financial, and
organizational duties of the graduate student government. Their duties include
setting GPSG's agenda, organizing and holding graduate student events,
administrating the expenditure of graduate student activity fees, overseeing and
fostering greater graduate student volunteerism, and meeting with university and
SGA faculty, staff, and administrators to advocate and coordinate graduate
students interests. Part of these duties include holding biweekly senate
meetings at which they present the state of GPSG affairs, update senators as to
GPSG concerns, and execute any business that needs to be completed.

The GPSG Finance Committee is a 5-member elected committee
vested with the duties of reviewing, enacting, and verifying that the Treasury
Laws are correctly and properly drafted, followed, and enforced. It is composed
of four elected members and the GPSG Treasurer, who serves as the presiding chair
and tie-breaker. As part of these duties, the Finance Committee has the primary
responsibility for reviewing all travel applications, all non-operational fund
event applications, most line-item transfer requests, and most reserve requests. In addition, their opinions are

creating, organizing, planning, and holding events designed to provide for the
academic, social, and general enrichment of graduate students at UNC Charlotte.
