How to Get Involved

Join an existing Chartered
Organization - If your
department already has a chartered organization, you may join it. View a
list of existing
chartered organizations.

Start a Chartered
Organization - If your department does not have a chartered organization, you may
start one. Find
out more about the process of obtaining a
charter.

Become an Officer in your Organization
- Become active in your organization, and participate by becoming an elected
officer. See the list of organizations above to find yours.

Become a Senator -
Check to see if your department's organization has a
representative in the GPSG
senate. As the chosen representatives of the student organizations, GPSG
Senators are the voice of the Graduate Student Body. As a result, GPSG
Senators are responsible for making all the major decisions related to
graduate student government and serve as a vital link between the GPSG
Executive Committee and the individual organizations. You can find out more about

and by-laws.

Join the Finance, Social, Special
Projects, or Research Fair Committee. GPSG has a range of opportunities to for
participation from helping organization social events to deciding financial
matters. More information can be found here.

Run for GPSG Executive Officer -
Read the descriptions of the positions, and when
the election process begins, nominate yourself (of have someone else
nominate you) for the position that best
matches your strengths!

Volunteer for a Service Position -
Read the descriptions of the positions and
see if there is one on which you'd like to serve. If so, e-mail
the
president about your interest. These positions fill at different times
during the year.
