Meetings Next Semester

Liz asked for everyone’s input on the day and time for our meetings next semester. We decided tentatively that Thursdays at 4:30 would be a good time for everyone. The room will be announced at a later date. We anticipate our first meeting the week after classes start, which means the schedule would be as follows:

January 18th                                         March 15th

February 1st                                         March 29th

February 15th                         April 12th

March 1st                                April 26th

Research Fair

Jenn asked for everyone’s input on how to divide the disciplines into categories for the research fair. We want to announce the fair before Christmas Break and would like to give as much information as possible.

She proposed two options:

A.)

1.)      Physical Sciences/Engineering/Math/IT

2.)      Everything Else

B.)

1.)      Physical Sciences/Engineering/Math/IT

2.)      Professions other than those above (ie. Business, Nursing, Education, Architecture)

3.)      Humanities and other

Everyone agreed that option B. sounded the best. The research fair will be held on Saturday, April 7th. Presentations will be approximately 10-15 minutes with Q&A. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category in the amount of $500, $300, and $100 respectively.

Rechartering

Liz reminded everyone that all organizations must recharter to get funded for the following school year. The deadline for rechartering is the third Monday in January, however, this date falls before our first meeting next year, so the deadline has been extended to the fourth Monday in January—January 22nd. Any new organization who wants to be funded next year must charter by this deadline also. Rechartering forms can be downloaded from our website. More information and reminders are forthcoming.

We broke out into committees for the remainder of the meeting.
