About the Class

POLS 4163: Model United Nations. (3) (W) (O) Prerequisite: permission of instructor. Preparation for and participation in the Model United Nations (simulation of the United Nations). Includes study of the background of country to be represented; the history, structure and procedures of the United Nations; drafting of resolutions and position papers; and public speaking and caucusing. May be repeated for credit. (Spring)

This year the class will be preparing to send students to The Hague in The Netherlands, for World Model UN as well as preparing for the high school conference. In order to be accepted into the class, a competition is held amongst prespective candidates with judges being non-club members. Important facts that are considered when letting students into the class are fund raising participation, dedication to meetings, and performance at SRMUN and Carolina's Conference.
