Charlotte Senior Runner-Up In National Poetry Contest
Lisa Jillani,
a senior history major and member of the UNC Charlotte chapter of
Phi Kappa Phi, was named one of the runners-up in the fall 2009
poetry contest for Phi Kappa Phi Forum, an award-winning quarterly
journal. Her poem “On the Poorhouse Road, 1968” was one of
only three runners-up
posted
associated with the journal. The Phi Kappa Phi Forum poetry
contest is open only to active members of the Phi Kappa Phi honor
society. Jillani is a past literary editor of the Charlotte Poetry
Review and was president of the Charlotte Writers’ Club. She will
read her poem at the UNC Charlotte Phi Kappa Phi induction in April
2010.
